Terms of Service

Last updated: October 17, 2026

1. Purpose

These Terms of Service ("Terms") set out the conditions and procedures for using VocaDict ("the Service"), and the rights, obligations and responsibilities of the operator of the Service (Section 2) and of its users.

2. Operator

VocaDict is a service operated by Dotprod ("we", "us", or "our").

3. Description of Service

VocaDict is a vocabulary-learning service offering dictionary lookup, AI features, spaced-repetition study and more. Its specific features are as published in the Service.

4. Eligibility and Accounts

You must be at least 14 years old to use the Service.

Some features of the Service require an account. You are responsible for keeping your account sign-in credentials secure, and you may not share your account with others. You may terminate your agreement with us at any time by deleting your account.

5. Acceptable Use

When using the Service, you must not:

  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
  • Use automated scripts or bots to access the Service in a way that exceeds reasonable personal use
  • Reproduce, duplicate, or resell any part of the Service without our express permission
  • Decompile or reverse-engineer the Service's software
  • Collect the Service's content or AI-generated content in bulk by automated means
  • Use the Service or AI-generated content to develop or train an AI model
  • Circumvent a plan's usage limits, for example by using several accounts
  • Enter content that infringes another person's rights or breaks the law into the AI features
  • Circumvent or disable the AI features' safeguards, including by prompting the AI to produce harmful content
  • Use the AI features to generate, or attempt to generate, harmful content such as child sexual exploitation, promotion of violence or terrorism, hate or harassment, sexually explicit material, fraud, or impersonation of another person
  • Enter another person's personal information, including sensitive information, into the AI features
  • Use a credit card fraudulently, or commit any other comparable fraud
  • Use the Service through another account while your use is restricted or suspended
  • Use the Service, or a feature of it, in a country or region where we do not offer it, or use the Service where export-control or sanctions law prohibits you from doing so
  • Otherwise break applicable law, disrupt the normal operation of the Service, or infringe another person's rights

6. Plans and Payments

The kinds of plans, their names and prices, and what each includes are as published in the Service. Each plan is subject to usage limits on the AI features, and the limits may be adjusted according to the Service's operating conditions.

Payments for paid plans are processed by a payment processor we engage, and the payment processor's terms and conditions apply to those payments.

Paid plans renew automatically for each billing period until cancelled, and the fee for each period is charged when that period begins.

We may change the prices and content of our plans. If you already subscribe to a paid plan and we increase its price, we tell you about the increase and ask for your consent within the 30 days before the increased price is first charged to you, and apply the increased price only with your consent. If you do not consent, your subscription is not renewed when the period already paid at the old price ends, and you may cancel it at any time before then.

7. Cancellation, Withdrawal, and Refunds

You may cancel your subscription at any time, and after cancelling you can keep using the Service until the end of the period you have already paid for.

If you live in the Republic of Korea, Brazil or China, you may withdraw from a purchase within 7 days of the payment date and receive a full refund of that payment, whether or not you used the Service in that time.

Otherwise, payments are non-refundable except as these Terms provide or applicable law requires.

You may request a withdrawal or refund from us or from the payment processor, and the payment processor returns refunds to the original payment method.

8. Dictionary Content and AI-Generated Content

Dictionary definitions and related content are provided by third parties. This content is the intellectual property of its respective owners and is displayed under their terms of use. Content provided under an open licence may be used as that licence allows, and Section 5 does not apply to using that content under its licence. The prohibitions on how the Service is accessed, such as automated access or bulk collection, still apply.

Definitions, example sentences and other content generated by AI may be inaccurate or out of date. Where necessary, you should check the content against other sources.

9. Suspension, Changes, and Discontinuation of the Service

We may suspend all or part of the Service temporarily for maintenance, replacement or failure of equipment, a loss of communications, applying an update, or another substantial operational reason. We give notice of planned maintenance in advance; where unavoidable circumstances prevent advance notice, we give it afterwards.

We may change the content of the Service where operational or technical needs require it. Before removing or reducing a major feature included in a paid plan, we give notice of the change and its effective date. An adjustment of the AI usage limits under Section 6 is not such a change.

If we discontinue the Service, we give notice at least 30 days before the end date. Users subscribed to a paid plan on that date are refunded the fee for the part of the current billing period after the end date. Unless the law provides otherwise, we do not compensate for changes to, or the discontinuation of, features provided free of charge.

10. Restriction of Use

If you engage in an activity prohibited by Section 5 or otherwise breach these Terms, we may restrict or suspend your use of the Service immediately. We then tell you promptly what we did and why.

If, after a restriction or suspension, you repeat the activity or do not remedy its cause, we may terminate our agreement with you, telling you why; the termination takes effect when we tell you. You may object to the termination, and if we find the objection justified we restore your use of the Service. Your account is deleted 7 days after the termination. If we terminate our agreement with you under this Section, your paid-plan subscription ends with it.

11. Limitation of Liability

We are not liable for damage you suffer in any of the following cases:

  1. The damage results from a cause attributable to you, such as breaching these Terms, creating an account with untrue information, or failing to keep your account credentials secure
  2. Unless we acted with intent or negligence, content of the Service — dictionary definitions (Section 8) or AI-generated definitions, example sentences and the like — is inaccurate or incomplete
  3. The damage arises from features provided free of charge, unless the law provides otherwise
  4. The Service cannot be provided because of a natural disaster, an outage of a telecommunications carrier, a failure of a service provided by a third party, or other comparable force majeure that we cannot resolve with reasonable effort
  5. The Service is suspended for maintenance notified in advance under Section 9
  6. While we apply, with reasonable care, an update needed to maintain or improve the Service, connections drop briefly and unavoidably or an AI response in progress is interrupted
  7. Without intent or negligence on our part, the damage results from a security problem beyond our control, such as unlawful access by a third party
  8. Unless we acted with intent or negligence, you do not achieve the learning results you expected from using the Service
  9. Providing the Service is restricted by law or by an order of a court or government authority

However, this does not apply to damage caused by our intent or negligence.

12. General Provisions

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Korea. However, this does not exclude any mandatory protection that the law of your country of residence guarantees consumers.

Disputes about these Terms are subject to the jurisdiction of the Seoul Central District Court. However, for users residing in the Republic of Korea, and for users whose country of residence guarantees consumers a different forum by law, the law guaranteeing that forum applies.

If any provision of these Terms is invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions are not affected.

We give notice to you individually by email to the address you used to sign up, and a notice sent to that address is deemed to have reached you.

We may assign or transfer our agreement with you (including the rights and obligations under it) to another business under the procedure that applicable law sets. If we do, we notify you of the transfer and the transferee in advance, and if you do not agree you may terminate your agreement with us at any time without penalty.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may change these Terms to the extent permitted by applicable law. A minor change that does not affect your rights or obligations, such as correcting a typo or a contact detail, applies without separate notice.

If we change a material term concerning your rights or obligations, we notify you of the change and its effective date at least 30 days before it takes effect and ask for your consent. After the effective date, only users who have agreed to the changed Terms may use the Service. If you do not agree, your paid-plan subscription is not renewed.

If you do not agree to the changed Terms, you may terminate your agreement with us at any time without penalty.

These Terms are provided in Korean and English. For users in the Republic of Korea, the Korean version prevails; for everyone else, the English version prevails.
